Calatheas are known for their unique ability to move in rythm with changes of light and temperature. Calathea makoyana, also called "peacock plant", is a gorgeous plant that will captivate you with its unusually patterned leaves that fold and unfold throught the day.

Maintenance tips

Light

To maintain its bright colors, place your Calathea makoyana in front of a north-facing window or in a room where direct sunlight is filtered.

Watering

Calathea makoyana prefers slightly damp soil, without being soggy. Water it once every 10 days in winter and up to twice a week in summer. Make sure the soil is 2cm dry on the surface before each watering.

Temperatures

An exotic plant that requires warm temperatures between 15°C and 24°C all year round.

Toxicity

A beautiful plant that is not toxic to humans or pets.
